Cameron Jordan still has an obvious free agency fit

It's been weeks since New Orleans Saints legend Cameron Jordan opened up about his desire to stay with the team.

However, there's no new agreement in sight, and multiple teams could make a run at him during training camp.

Still, the Saints haven't necessarily shut the door on him, either. If the money makes sense, he might be back for the second year of the Kellen Moore era.

According to ESPN's Matt Bowen, that would make the most sense for both parties, which is why he thinks Jordan will ultimately continue his career in the Big Easy.

Cameron Jordan should re-sign with the New Orleans Saints

"Sure, he can land with a team looking for a 4-3 edge given his physical profile (6-foot-4, 287 pounds) and movement ability," Bowen wrote. "However, we have Jordan returning for his 16th season with the Saints. Coordinator Brandon Staley could still use Jordan's veteran presence in a unit that did not make any big free agent signings or draft picks."

Jordan is the all-time Saints leader in sacks, and he's the greatest pass rusher in franchise history.

He's coming off logging 10.5 sacks last season, the most he's had since 2021, so he can clearly still make an impact, even as a rotational guy.

Also, after spending his entire career with the organization, it's hard to believe he wouldn't gladly take a hometown discount or an incentives-based deal to extend his career there.

Multiple Super Bowl contenders could certainly use a proven headhunter on a short-term pact, and he deserves an opportunity to play for a ring.

That said, not many stars get to spend their entire careers with an organization, and the Saints could definitely use as much help as they can get.
