GLENDALE – Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. looks to be putting the pieces together. The 2nd-year wide receiver has had 15 targets the past two weeks for 10 catches and 164 receiving yards and a touchdown. After analysts and fans across social media were ready to crown Harrison as a bust, he has proven that noise wrong.

The 23-year-old aims to achieve three straight games with 50+ receiving yards for the first time in his career this Sunday. However, he’ll have a tough time as the Indianapolis Colts has been one of the best secondaries at home.

Can Harrison face a tough Colts secondary:

Through five games, Indianapolis has allowed 217.0 passing yards per game, which is only 19th in the league. Despite that mark, when the defense is at Lucas Oil Stadium that number plummets. The Colts allowed just 176.3 passing yards at home, which would be ninth in the NFL.

The secondary has been completely retooled from last year, with former Pro Bowler Charvarius Ward leading the way. Pro Football Focus gave Ward an 83.4 overall cornerback grade, which is third best at his position. The new arrivals of Ward, safety Camryn Bynum and others has made this secondary a dangerous unit for the Cardinals offense.

Arizona might be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray, who is dealing with a knee injury suffered in Week 5. Harrison’s production might take a hit if backup Jacoby Brissett is under center. Regardless, the offense has become more pass-friendly the past couple of weeks due to the injuries to running backs James Conner and Trey Benson.

Harrison’s production has been the beneficiary of the increased role. The former fourth overall pick will have his hardest test yet on the road against this Indianapolis defensive unit. These are the type of games that solidify wide receivers from being elite to just being average, and the Cardinals need him to be the former.
