The Arizona Cardinals have been without starting quarterback Kyler Murray since Oct. 5 with a foot injury.

Murray has missed three straight games and will miss more time after Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon updated his status to the media on Wednesday.

He confirmed to local reporters that Murray will be placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.

"Kyler's going to go on IR," Gannon said. "I feel like that's the best thing for him and for us. He's not fully healthy, ready to go yet, so that makes the most sense. Obviously, that's a change, but we just felt, looking at it right now, that's the best thing for him and us, like I just said."

Murray has played in five games this season, compiling 962 yards through the air, six touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Jacoby Brissett has started three games this year, including Monday's contest against the Dallas Cowboys. He finished that game with 261 yards through the air and two touchdowns in the Cardinals' 27-17 win.

Overall, Brissett has compiled 860 passing yards, six touchdowns and only one interception this season. He will start again on Sunday when the Cardinals face the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.

It's a big game for the Cardinals since they're trying to inch closer to .500 and stay in the NFC playoff race. Their win over the Cowboys on Monday snapped a five-game losing streak after they won their first two games of the season.

Sunday's game will be in Seattle and start at 4:05 p.m. ET. Kevin Harlan and Trent Green will have the call for CBS.
