The Arizona Cardinals will be without a key member of their secondary following a head injury to cornerback Max Melton, who exited the “Monday Night Football” game against the Dallas Cowboys with the NFC West side looking well on their way to a win.
Melton, a starter for Arizona, has played a key role for the team this season amid a challenging period for the defensive back corps.
The Cardinals began the season without Starling Thomas and Sean Murphy-Bunting, while Garrett Williams and Will Johnson were questionable heading into this week. They both ended up being active for Monday’s game, which was not the case for quarterback Kyler Murray.
Melton was also evaluated for a concussion during the first half on the night.
The team announced he had been ruled out of the game in the fourth quarter.

Melton was a starter in all six of his appearances for the Cardinals heading into the “MNF” showdown vs. Dallas.
The team was well aware of the threat their secondary would face, given the Cowboys’ receiver room, which includes CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson.
They did an excellent job keeping them in check and managed to keep the Dallas offense out of the end zone until the start of the fourth quarter while they clicked on that side of the ball themselves.
