Cardinals claim 2 players off waivers

On Monday evening, the Arizona Cardinals added two players through the waiver wire, claiming running back Evan Hull and defensive tackle Cam Horsley. The team waived defensive tackle Coziah Izzard and wide receiver Tejhuan Palmer to create roster space for the two additions.

Hull joins Arizona after being released by the Houston Texans. Originally selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, he has also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints. During the 2025 season with the Saints, Hull played in six games, rushing 19 times for 48 yards while adding one reception for six yards. Across his NFL career, he has appeared in eight games, including two contests with Indianapolis between the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Horsley arrives after the Tennessee Titans waived him on Sunday. The defensive tackle signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and appeared in one game during his rookie season, logging 14 defensive snaps.

The Cardinals also hosted running back Jermar Jefferson for a workout on Monday.

Hull’s addition comes as Arizona continues to evaluate its backfield during training camp. Running back Trey Benson missed practice on Sunday and was listed as the team’s fourth running back on the Cardinals’ initial depth chart. Benson has shown explosiveness since returning to team drills but currently trails Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier, and James Conner in the running back rotation. Bam Knight’s value on special teams also supports his case for a roster spot if Arizona decides to carry four running backs on its 53-man roster.
