GLENDALE – The franchise captain is locked in for the 2025 season after team’s offseason moves. The Arizona Cardinals had a stellar free agency, where it addressed multiple needs on defense by bringing in former Pro Bowlers. Fans around the Valley have showcased their excitement for the team’s offseason move, with quarterback Kyler Murray joining the list. The Pro Bowl quarterback appeared on 98.7’s Wolf and Luke program, where Murray revealed his approval of his team’s free agency.
“I think we’re on the right path, adding the new additions of Josh (Sweat), Dalvin (Tomlinson), a lot of other guys,” Murray said. “I’m super excited. Super excited. I trust Monti’s plan, JG’s plan. Doing it the right way, building through the draft while also being aggressive in free agency.”
Murray loved the team’s aggressiveness, and not only in free agency, but securing his favorite target last season in Trey McBride. The fourth-year Cardinals tight end signed the largest contract for his position in history this offseason, which is no surprise to Murray.
“I’ve never played with a tight end like Trey,” Murray said. “I’ve had safety blankets in my past, but to have a guy like this who is really a safety (blanket). They say the tight end’s the quarterback’s best friend, and this guy right here is the true definition of that. Doesn’t matter if he’s covered, which most of the time he’s not because he runs great routes.”
The Cardinals best offseason in recent memory has generated hope for Murray and around Arizona, with fans responding by purchasing the highest amount of season tickets in a over decade for 2025. The franchise has shown its willing to spend money on elite talent, and the goal is to contend and secure the Cardinals second playoff appearance with Murray under center.
