GLENDALE – On Thursday, Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill became the sixth member of the franchise to be inducted into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame. Bidwill was hired as the team’s president back in 2007 until 2019, after his father’s passing. Bidwill took the mantle of team’s owner and now joins his father into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.
“It’s a little weird because I’m used to being in front of the media talking about the team and the community and new initiatives we’re doing, I’m not used to standing and talking about me,” Bidwill said. “It’s a little weird, but I’m so honored and touched. The fact that I’ll be second generation in this is really special. My father was in the 2017 class, so it’s exciting to be a part of this. Lots of people helped get all of us here and it’s a great class and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

The 2024-2025 class included seven other members: Mike Bibby, Julia Ertz, Joe Gargiola Jr., Melissa Belote, Ricky Hunley, Paul Konerk, and Matt Shott.
Bidwell has helped make the Cardinals and State Farm Stadium national attractions, with the Stadium used to host other major sporting events. The 60-year-old continued to hold the team under the Bidwill when his grandfather bought the team back in 1933.
The franchise is coming off a stellar offseason, signing Pro Bowlers like Josh Sweat and Calais Campbell. The free agency moves will make Arizona a wild card team heading into next season for fans to look out for, and Bidwill is excited about the new additions.
“It’s exciting to get ready for (the draft),” Bidwill said. “We just signed Calais Campbell, which is a big addition. To have Calais back into the organization is really awesome. Not only his leadership off the field and in the locker room but also what he can do on the field is really special, too.
