The Arizona Cardinals may not be willing to commit millions of dollars to a new Kyler Murray contract this offseason, but they are certainly spending money elsewhere.

On Wednesday, the Cardinals announced that they have signed both head coach Kliff Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim to contract extensions. The agreements tie both to the franchise through the 2027 season.

Murray’s agent, Erik Burkhardt, was one of the first people to congratulate Kingsbury.

Kingsbury was entering the final season of his contract with Arizona. There was talk a few months ago about him potentially returning to college, and it seemed like he was trying to use the rumors as leverage. He probably didn’t need to.

The Cardinals have improved in each of Kingsbury’s first three seasons with the team. They have gone 5-10, 8-8 and 11-6.

Keim has been with the Cardinals since he first joined the team as a scout in 1999. He was named GM in 2013.
