The 7-5 Seattle Seahawks travel to Arizona to take on the 6-6 Cardinals in a crucial NFC West matchup.
After a four-game winning streak, the Cardinals have now lost back-to-back games to fall to second place in the division. Their offense has cooled off, and quarterback Kyler Murray has thrown three interceptions during the two-game skid. Arizona's defense has kept the team in games, and it has plenty of talent offensively to get back on track.
The Seahawks have won three games in a row, including a 16-6 win over the Cardinals just two weeks ago. Quarterback Geno Smith ranks third in the NFL in passing yards, and his top two targets - Jaxson Smith-Njigba and DK Metcalf - are both on pace to go over 1,000 receiving yards. Seattle's defense has been improved as of late, surrendering an average of just 14 points over it's last three games.
Here are the best odds, bets and predictions for this matchup.
*Odds from FanDuel and subject to change
Cardinals: -142
Seahawks: +120
It's been difficult to know what to expect from each of these teams this season. They've both overachieved at times, as well as underachieved, and have been very hot or cold. Their team rankings are nearly identical, as Arizona ranks 17th in total defense and Seattle ranks 18th. The Cardinals have the No. 11 overall offense in the NFL, and the Seahawks come in at No. 16.
Despite Arizona ranking a little higher in most categories, it's struggling to close out games. Seattle has the firepower offensively to to seal the deal in the fourth quarter, and has actually played better on the road than at home this season with a 4-1 record. This should be a tight matchup, but I think the Seahawks are more talented, and I trust them more. I'm betting Seattle on the moneyline.
Cardinals: -2.5 (-110)
Seahawks: +2.5 (-110)
There's no need to bet the spread since I'm taking the Seahawks to win straight up, but if you're set on the Cardinals winning, I would bet Seattle to cover.
Over: -110
Under: -110
Although each offense has been inconsistent, there's easily enough talent on both units to justify betting the over - especially since both team's defenses are subpar.
