CB Adoree' Jackson addresses Chiefs' Kadarius Toney trolling Giants

New York Giants cornerback Adoree' Jackson seems unbothered that current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and former Giant Kadarius Toney trolled Big Blue and the club's fans via social media after New York lost to the Dallas Cowboys 40-0 at home on Sunday night.

"That’s the nature of the game we play," Jackson said during a Tuesday appearance on the WFAN "Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata Show," according to John Healy of Audacy. "When things are good, things are good. When they’re bad, they’re bad. End of the day, we gave people ammo to say and do things at their discretion. We lost that game. At the end of the day, we can’t fault anybody for saying anything about us."

The Giants selected Toney in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft but shipped him to the Chiefs last fall after he dealt with multiple injury setbacks throughout his brief New York tenure. Toney then recorded a touchdown catch and the longest punt return in Super Bowl history during Kansas City's 38–35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in February and later utilized social media outlets to blast his former employer and Giants fans.

All of that occurred before Toney committed several costly drops in the Chiefs' 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions this past Thursday night. Jackson could've mentioned that lackluster performance but instead chose to look ahead to New York's Week 2 game at the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.

"I view the first five weeks as a tell of who we’re going to be as a team," Jackson explained. "I think you learn about yourself, learn about the guys around you …first couple games of who you’re gonna be and what you’re gonna be as a team. Excited for this run and five-week journey with the guys and understanding who we’re going to be and what we’re going to showcase for ourselves."

As for Toney, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid insisted on Monday that the 24-year-old will play in this coming Sunday's contest at the Jacksonville Jaguars in an attempt to get the receiver right. One wonders if Reid will speak with Toney about the player's online habits before Week 2.
