CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin dropped his top college-turned-pro NFL teammates this week and it's no surprise who was at No. 1: Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase.
The former-LSU turned Bengals duo could go down as the greatest QB-WR connection in football history if they can keep producing like this and add a Super Bowl trophy or multiple along the way.
"Is it any wonder that Burrow and Chase are currently the NFL's most prolific quarterback-receiver duo?" Benjamin wrote. "Fresh off a 2024 campaign in which they separately led the league in touchdown passes (43) and receiving yards (1,708), the two previously headlined LSU's 2019 national title. That one year of ridiculous college production, in which Burrow lofted 60 (!) scores, has seamlessly translated to the pro stage, where No. 9 routinely airs it out to let Chase work his own magic. Even when the Bengals aren't stacking wins, they're must-see TV thanks to their dynamic duo."
Burrow and Chase are pursuing the greatness of arguably the best duos ever in Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison, plus, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
Neither duo played together in college, but they are the only ones in NFL history to combine for 100-plus touchdowns.
