Nothing can match the magical moments of the 2024 season for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The subpar start to the season as they were 2-2 going into the bye week before finishing with a 14-3 record and winners of the NFC East title. They ran through the playoffs with three of their four wins being by two or more possession en route to a Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Players and coaches have come and gone from the franchise, leaving the 2025 season as the team's last chance, which looks promising for the young Eagles. There's plenty that can go right for the Birds, but plenty that can go sideways in a hurry.

Eagles' best case and worst case scenarios in 2025

CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin shared the best-case and worst-case scenarios of each of the 32 NFL teams in 2025. For the Eagles, the complete dominance of the roster on both offense and defense remains on par with what they achieved in 2024.

"The all-world offense remains a force, and Vic Fangio's defense gets even scarier with the growth of young stalwarts like Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith, helping the Philly machine wins its third title of the last nine years."

Fangio's first year as defensive coordinator in Philadelphia couldn't have gone better, as his unit was number one in total defense, allowing 278.4 yards per game, with the next closest being the Tennessee Titans at 311.2. The emergence of rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean helped the secondary build for the future, and edge rusher Nolan Smith Jr. helped with Brandon Graham's late-season injury and Bryce Huff's inability to play within Fangio's defense.

Offensively, it was all about Saquon Barkley coming in and rushing for over 2,000 in the regular season and finishing with an NFL-record 2,504 yards all year and winning Offensive Player of the Year. Quarterback Jalen Hurts deserves credit for having career-highs in completion percentage (68.7) and passer rating (103.7) as he won the Super Bowl MVP.

Those are all solid reasons to believe the Eagles will have another massive season in 2025. Now to the bad news. The Eagles could see a drop-off on offense with Barkley being overused and a new offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, stepping in as the new play caller.

"Saquon Barkley breaks down after leading the 2024 charge, and their offensive leaders get chippy while trying to compensate under a new coordinator, resulting in a one-and-done post-Super Bowl hangover."

One thing that has already been demonstrated throughout offseason workouts is how in control Patullo is with the offense. With his hands-on experience in game planning, he and Hurts have been hard at work building the relationship needed to keep the offense moving forward.

Many people are going to looking into the future and predicting what could happen, but fans are going to play the waiting game and see what happens before drawing any of these conclusions.
