CeeDee Lamb cost the Dallas Cowboys a chance to win by dropping multiple passes in the second half on Thursday night, and the star wide receiver made no excuses after the game.
Lamb had three drops in the Cowboys’ 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Two of those drops came in the fourth quarter when Dallas was trying to put together a game-winning drive.
Arguably the most costly drop came on 1st-and-10 with 2:47 remaining in the game. Dak Pescott threw a perfect strike to Lamb for what should have been a 40-yard gain to set the Cowboys up at around the Philadelphia 20-yard line. Lamb may have sensed a big hit coming and was unable to haul in the pass.

Lamb then had another pass hit his hands later in the same drive on 4th-and-3, though he had to dive for that one and it would have been an outstanding catch.
When asked about the drops after the game, Lamb had a blunt message — “I need to catch the damn ball.”
“Man, that’s terrible. Honestly, I feel like I can’t point no finger at anybody else,” Lamb told reporters, via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “I take full accountability and everything that’s going to come with it. As for me as a player, I’ve prayed for moments like that and for the ball to come my way, and for me not to come up with it, that stings a little bit.
Lamb was then asked if he was rusty after not playing in the preseason.
“That ain’t got nothing to do with what’s going on right now. I need to catch the damn ball,” he said.
Lamb finished the game with 7 catches for 110 yards. Prescott targeted him 13 times and continued to go back to him even after the drops.
Lamb has struggled with drops in the past. He had made it a goal to go the entire 2025 season without a drop, but that is no longer possible.
