Schedule reveal day in the NFL has morphed into a contest of sorts to see which franchise’s social media team can come up with the most entertaining short clip to announce their respective opponents for the upcoming season. The Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts went with the same this year — Minecraft.
The Chargers’ video clip features nearly five minutes of jokes and if-you-know-you-know puns featuring the likes highlights such as a burned-down house for the Las Vegas Raiders, being visited by the ghost of Saquan Barkley for the New York Giants and a rally to save the tush push for the Philadelphia Eagles.
should we REALLY make our schedule release video in minecraft?

The Colts’ video ran just under three minutes and featured similar jabs. Notably, the Starbucks incident between two NFL reporters was referenced, among other playful jokes. Fans can watch that one as well below:

The Colts and Chargers will play each other during the 2025 season, and of course, they both poked fun at each other during their respective videos. The Colts had LA head coach Jim Harbaugh get eaten by the Dirty Bubble from the show SpongeBob Squarepants. In the Chargers’ video, they featured a go-kart race between Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks which hilariously noted that Anthony Richardson ran out of gas midway through the race.
These clips are all in good fun, as many teams around the NFL are sending playful jabs at each other during the schedule reveal. For these two franchises, they’ll duke it out in Week 7 in Los Angeles to find out who’ll earn bragging rights over the other for this season.
Elsewhere across the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals put together a music video, the Bills made an AI –as in Allen Iverson — generated video. The Bengals quite literally made a short film featuring Joe Burrow, both the Colts and Chargers made Minecraft-related videos and the Tennessee Titans released their schedule-rizi via a parody over-the-counter medicine commercial — jingle included, among other hilarious videos from the rest of the league’s franchises.
The 2025 NFL season will kick off on Sept. 4 in a game between the defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys on a Thursday night. The Chargers will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil the following day (Friday), while the Colts will have to wait until that Sunday to kick off their seasons against the Miami Dolphins inside Lucas Oil Stadium.
