The Los Angeles Chargers continue making moves. They must cut their roster down to 53 players by the time 3 p.m. CT rolls around. Plenty of notable pieces will have to be cut.

Los Angeles is reportedly moving on from a former first-round selection. It was not a pick of their own - but rather a pick by the Las Vegas Raiders

Chargers cut former first-round OL Alex Leatherwood

Leatherwood was added as veteran depth for the Chargers OL this offseason. He clearly got beat out by some other options, so he will look for a new fit.

Leatherwood has not been a starter at the NFL level since his rookie season in 2021. It's been a whirlwind for the former Alabama offensive tackle.

Leatherwood was graded as one of the worst starting offensive linemen in football during that 2021 season, according to Pro Football Focus. They gave him a measly 45.0 blocking grade.

Keep an eye on other moves along the offensive line for Los Angeles. They shuffle continues up until Week 1.

Chargers also cut running back Isaiah Spiller

Spiller was competing for a depth role in the Chargers backfield. With the move, expect both Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins to headline the RB room in LA.

Jaret Patterson and Kimani Vidal are the other RBs remaining on the Chargers roster behind the two veterans. We will see how many they choose to keep on the 53-man roster.
