Jalyn Armour-Davis saw his 2025 season come to an abrupt end due to an Achilles tear. The cornerback is now healthy, though, and his next deal is in place.
Armour-Davis has agreed to sign with the Chargers, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports. The Achilles tear was suffered in late December, setting up a lengthy recovery process. Missed time to begin the 2026 campaign was always going to be in store, but a return to the field could take place relatively soon.
A fourth-round pick of the Ravens in 2022, Armour-Davis dealt with a number of injuries to begin his career. The Alabama product made just 19 appearances across his three seasons in Baltimore, operating as a backup along the way. He was waived during roster cuts last August, and multiple claims were made. The Titans would up landing Armour-Davis, who became a defensive mainstay on his new team.
Prior to his Achilles tear, Armour-Davis made 10 starts while recording 34 tackles and a pair of pass deflections. The 27-year-old struggled in coverage, but he could offer depth in the secondary and a special teams presence upon returning to full health. Especially if the Chargers operate as sellers at the trade deadline, a role could emerge during the latter stages of the season.
Los Angeles has not looked to trade players away so far, although Sunday’s loss moved the team’s record to 0-7. That could at least lead to other options receiving a look relatively soon. It will be interesting to see if Armour-Davis manages to work his way onto the field in time for the end of the campaign.
