Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant is already making his presence known in his new city. The team signed Bryant to a three-year, $40 million deal in March. The 27-year-old defensive back joined the Bears after spending the past four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
In his final season in Seattle, Bryant helped the team secure a Super Bowl win. He recorded 66 tackles, four interceptions and defended seven passes across 15 regular-season games.
The Bears are counting on Bryant to make plays this upcoming season, including against his former team. Chicago finished 11-6 in 2025 after a 5-12 record the previous year. The team also won the NFC North title and recorded its first playoff victory in 15 years.
As Bryant begins settling into Chicago, he swapped his football uniform for a baseball jersey for one night. The veteran safety stepped away from football on Saturday to throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the Chicago White Sox-Chicago Cubs game.
The White Sox, who defeated the Cubs 8-3 in the Crosstown rivalry game, later posted a clip of Bryant’s throw on Instagram.
“Bears safety, Coby Bryant, was in the house to throw tonight’s first pitch! ⬇️,” the White Sox wrote in their caption.

Bryant is transitioning from a title-winning season in Seattle to leading Chicago’s defense. His weekend appearance on the South Side shows he is fully embracing his new hometown. Bears fans are surely excited to see him bring intensity to the field this year.
