The Chicago Bears had a breakout season in 2025, marked by a major leap in performance from their young core. Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III both turned in impressive campaigns that established them as key players on the team.
The two rookie standouts played pivotal roles in improving the Bears’ offensive line. This development helped Chicago rebound from a 5-12 record in 2024 to finish 11-6 in 2025. The team also won its first NFC North title since 2018 and its first playoff victory since 2011.
Loveland, in particular, emerged as one of the league’s most promising young players during the 2025 campaign. The 21-year-old tight end recorded 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns. With that yardage total, he became the first Bears rookie to lead the team in receiving yards since 1983.
Loveland also became the first rookie tight end to accomplish that feat since Hall of Famer Mike Ditka in 1961. His standout debut campaign earned him the Bears’ Rookie of the Year award.
Complementing him was Burden, who emerged as a big-play threat. Across 15 games, the 22-year-old wide receiver recorded 47 receptions for 652 yards and two touchdowns. His efficient play earned him a 79.3 grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking him 18th among all NFL wide receivers.
After leading the Bears back to the postseason, Loveland and Burden are turning their focus to a community event this spring. The duo will headline the Colston Loveland & Luther Burden III Youth Football Camp on May 30 at The Dome in Rosemont, Illinois.
The camp gives young athletes ages 7 to 15 the chance to play with the pros. It features dynamic drills, competitions, and game-day scenarios designed to improve their technical skills.
