The Chicago Bears rookie minicamp will begin tomorrow, May 9th and continue throughout the weekend ending on May 11th with new faces looking to earn a solidified spot on the 90-man roster.

Prior to the weekend festivities, the Bears have finalized rookie contracts with five of the eight draft picks and signed 10 undrafted free agents. The team also extended rookie minicamp invites to 23 other players looking for an NFL tryout.

Each of these players will be competing amongst each other while working with the new coaching staff led by head coach Ben Johnson.

"It's going to be a competitive environment. There is no depth chart right now. If you want to play, you've got to go earn it," Johnson said after the draft. "If you want a role, you've got to go earn it. They know that. We were very straightforward and honest with them when they came in the building...

"I think all we did [in the draft] is we might've just turned up the notch a couple of dials for certain people in this building. That's a good thing. That's a healthy thing. That's where you bring out the best not only in your team but in each individual."

Of the rookie class, the only unsigned draft picks are the team's three second-round selections: WR Luther Burden III, OL Ozzy Trapilo, and DL Shemar Turner.

TE Colston Loveland, LB Ruben Hyppolite II, CB Zah Frazier, OL Luke Newman, and RB Kyle Monangai all signed their rookie contracts on Thursday.

Loveland, the team's 10th overall selection in the first-round, obviously signed the largest deal of the Bears' draft class, a four-year $26.64 million contract with $16.01 million in a signing bonus.

Even though all eight draft picks aren't signed yet, all eight rookies did receive their initial jersey numbers, although these numbers are subject to change:

84 Colston Loveland
87 Luther Burden III
75 Ozzy Trapilo
95 Shemar Turner
47 Ruben Hyppolite II
20 Zah Frazier
65 Luke Newman
25 Kyle Monangai

As for the returning players at minicamp this weekend, fans might recognize QB Austin Reed, LB Carl Jones Jr., TE Jordan Murray, OL Theo Benedet, WR John Jackson, and TE Joel Wilson working in with the incoming rookies.

All of the players reported to the facilities on Thursday and will be hitting the practice field throughout the weekend. Follow along here for any notable plays or updates.
