During the 2022 NFL season, the Chicago Bears got into a bidding war with their arch-rivals, the Green Bay Packers, at the trade deadline. Both teams were trying to acquire Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool. Despite having back-to-back 800+ yard seasons to start his NFL career, Claypool had worn out his welcome in Pittsburgh.
Both the Bears and Packers offered a second round pick for the former Notre Dame wide receiver. Chicago ended up having their offer accepted because their pick was better (earlier).
Unfortunately, Claypool never lived up to the hype and he was out of the NFL by 2024. Now, he is attempting to make a comeback up in Green Bay.
According to Packers beat reporter Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Claypool is among the 38 players present in Green Bay today and tomorrow for rookie mini camp:

At the time of the 2022 trade, Claypool had 32 receptions for 311 yards and a touchdown in eight games for Pittsburgh. After the trade, though, he had just 14 receptions for 140 yards in seven games with Chicago.
The following season, Claypool had four receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in three games with the Bears. Tired of his lack of effort and off-field distractions, Chicago traded him to the Miami Dolphins. He had just four receptions for 26 yards in nine games for them.
To date, it was his last NFL game experience.
In 2024, Claypool was injured during training camp with the Buffalo Bills and missed the entire season. While he stated his intention for an NFL comeback in 2025, no teams showed any interest. Now he is attempting a comeback again in 2026.
