Chicago Bears rookie tight end turning heads in practice

When the Chicago Bears drafted tight end Sam Roush in round 3 of the 2025 draft, many were shocked due to the team having arguably a top tight end duo in Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet.

However, it seems there are early signs that the draft pick is paying off.

During Saturday’s practice, the rookie tight end has become to stand out among rookies on the team. Early reports are showing that Roush is turning heads already.

According to CHGO’s Greg Braggs, the rookie tight end is starting to make a splash during practice.

Roush caught a touchdown from quarterback Tyson Bagent during Red Zone 11 on 11s. The former Stanford Cardinal also made a nice play pulling down a tipped ball for a touchdown as well.

Sam Roush with another touchdown on the day. I believe that's his 3rd.

This time on a pass that was tipped at the goalline, Sam was in the right place, right time and pulled it down.

It’s nice to see yet another tight end on the Bears’ roster making plays. It looks like Ben Johnson has an additional weapon to use, potentially in 13 personnel this season.
