Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos has been dealing with a right thigh injury since the team returned from the bye week to prepare for Monday Night’s showdown against the Washington Commanders.
The veteran kicker has been listed as questionable, even though he practiced in full to end the week. It now seems that the Bears’ kicker could be out for Monday’s game.
According to the Chicago Bears’ official page on X, the team elevated former 49ers kicker Jake Moody from the practice squad.

”We have elevated Jonathan Ford and Jake Moody from the practice squad. Austin Booker and Travis Homer have been downgraded to out.”

It’s still uncertain if Moody will be active for Monday’s game. There is a chance that the team will let Santos go through a pregame warmup to see how he feels prior to kickoff.
If Santos isn’t good to go, the struggling former 49ers kicker will face a ton of pressure in a very important game for the Bears.
In an update from Bears insider Brad Biggs, Santos’ right quad injury flared up over the weekend. Looks like there is a legit chance that Moody will be kicking for the Bears in Washington on Monday night.

Elevating Jake Moody from the practice squad is more than a precaution for the #Bears. Sounds like he could very well be handling kicking duties tonight at Washington.
