The Chicago Bears are set to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 2 of the regular season and will be looking to bounce back from a devastating loss in Week 1. After starting out 0-1 on the season and in divisional play, this matchup becomes even more important.
The big storyline going into this one is Ben Johnson making his return to Ford Field after leaving the Lions' coaching staff to become the head coach of a divisional rival with Chicago Bears.
Detroit's offense struggled in the first game without its former offensive coordinator and at the same time, the Bears offense looked frustratingly similar to what fans saw in 2024.
Week 2 will be a big proving ground for both units looking to bury some early overreactions that started popping up after the first game of the season. For fans wanting to watch the action unfold, only select areas of the country will be able to catch the game live on FOX.
FOX will carry the Bears at Lions matchup, along with three other matchups during the early window on Sunday, splitting the country up for who's able to watch each individual game on TV. Pretty much the entire Midwest, as expected, will be able to watch the Bears at Lions game on Sunday.
If you're location falls outside of the broadcast area for this game in Week 2, there are still ways to watch via streaming on Hulu + Live TV, NFL+, Sling TV, or YouTube TV.
The Bears vs. Lions matchup on Sunday has been assigned the FOX broadcast crew of Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Jonathan Vilma (analyst), and Megan Olivi (sideline). Which means Bears fans won't be able to hear former tight end Greg Olsen call their game on Sunday, he was instead assigned to the Giants/Cowboys matchup.
As for the officiating crew on the field, the head referee will be Land Clark and the rest of his crew. Clark and his crew worked the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers game in Week 1, a game that featured 13 total penalties. Chicago was called for 12 penalties in Week 1.
