The Kansas City Chiefs are already doing their diligence on wide receiver prospects slated for the 2024 NFL draft.
According to Bleacher Report's Ryan Fowler, the Chiefs met with University of Texas-San Antonio WR Joshua Cephus at the Hula Bowl. Cephus was popular in Hawaii, also meeting with the Bears, Vikings, Jaguars, Commanders, Chargers, Saints, Broncos, and other teams per Fowler.
Cephus finished his final season as a Roadrunner with a First-Team All-AAC selection, having recorded 89 receptions for a school-record 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns. He helped lead UTSA to its first bowl win in school history, catching seven passes for 102 yards and a touchdown and earning Offensive MVP in Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl. He finished his collegiate career as UTSAs all-time leader in receptions (313) and receiving yards (3,639) to go along with 28 career touchdowns
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Cephus is a long athlete who boasts great athleticism. He showed off his speed, quickness, and hands throughout the practice week at the Hula Bowl.

6’3” wideout totaled 2,136 yds & 16 TDs the last two campaigns. High athletic profile.
Cephus also comes with some baggage, which makes a pre-draft meeting that much more important for a team like the Chiefs. The 22-year-old was arrested and eventually charged with a DWI in December 2022 following a rollover car crash. He reportedly had a BAC of .183 per blood analysis following his arrest. He was sentenced to 15 months of probation after agreeing to a plea deal in November.
He's currently projected as a late-round pick or priority free agent signing after the draft. Look for the Chiefs to potentially bring him in on a top-30 visit to do some more research on this prospect.
