The Kansas City Chiefs enter Week 9 chasing their fourth straight win and doing so behind a defense that has dominated opponents in recent weeks. Kansas City has allowed just seven total points in its last two games, as its defensive unit continues to impress after early-season struggles. On the offensive front, Patrick Mahomes continued to lead the way, completing 25 of 34 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs' latest win against the Washington Commanders.

The Buffalo Bills, meanwhile, sit at 5-2 and continue to rely on Josh Allen’s arm and mobility to stay in contention. In one of the most exciting matchups to look forward to this weekend, both teams will aim to strengthen their playoff outlooks, with the 2025 NFL season now entering its second half.

As the Chiefs prepare for Buffalo, head coach Andy Reid spoke highly of the Bills’ roster and coaching staff. He gave props to the Bills' defense and acknowledged the test ahead.

“Defensively, their front can bring it,” Reid said via A to Z Sports’ Charles Goldman. “They’re well-coached, the scheme, on both sides of the ball… they’re an all-around good football team. There’s not a whole lot of weaknesses there.”

Reid’s comments come as the Bills navigate key injuries. Defensive tackle Ed Oliver was recently placed on injured reserve with a torn biceps, forcing Buffalo to adjust its interior rotation.

Replacing the veteran defensive tackle will likely be Larry Ogunjobi, who impressed with one solo tackle and two assists against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, his first game of the season.

Buffalo also continues to monitor the status of defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, who remains questionable after missing the previous two games due to a calf injury. But even without their two starting tackles, Reid said he believes the Bills’ front remains a strength, with Gregory Rousseau and Joey Bosa still in the mix, both effective in generating edge pressure.

Sunday’s matchup also features compelling quarterback battles. Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce will test Buffalo’s secondary, while Allen faces a Chiefs defense that has forced turnovers in consecutive games.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET at Highmark Stadium, with national broadcast coverage on CBS.
