Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had few negative things to say about what he and his players encountered during and after Sunday's thrilling 27-24 divisional round playoff victory at the Buffalo Bills.
"The competition," Reid told NBC Sports' Peter King about what made Sunday's experience memorable. "The crowd. Special. This environment here is like crazy, from throwing snowballs and hitting our bus before the game started. Flipping us off as we came in. During the game, they were loud, so loud."
Kansas City superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes had never before played in an AFC postseason matchup on the road before Sunday night and learned plenty about how such situations differ from regular-season games.
Mahomes specifically had to dodge snowballs thrown by angry Buffalo fans on multiple occasions as he celebrated Sunday's win while trying to make his way to the locker room:

Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill took to social media late Sunday night to blast Buffalo supporters who tossed snowballs at Kansas City players, while Mahomes used Instagram to respond to those associated with the Bills who previously wished him "good luck" as it pertained to dealing with the hostile conditions at Buffalo's Highmark Stadium.
"...The environment, this environment, is football," Reid continued. "It’s NFL football. Like Arrowhead. NFL football at its best. That’s what we felt out there for three hours, for all of three hours."
Reid and company will head back on the road for this coming Sunday's AFC Championship Game at the Baltimore Ravens after the top-seeded Ravens crushed the Houston Texans 34-10 on Saturday.
As of early Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Chiefs as three-point underdogs against the Ravens.
"I love Lamar Jackson," Reid added about Mahomes' counterpart. "Patrick really likes him."
One can be sure Mahomes and his teammates will now have a better idea regarding what to expect when they take the M&T Bank Stadium field with a trip to Super Bowl LVIII on the line.
