Chiefs' Andy Reid re-creates iconic Snickers commercial
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

When Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid began filming State Farm commercials with Patrick Mahomes, he probably didn't expect that he'd wind up doing other commercials on his own. In fact, he was adamant with reporters about keeping the day job.

"I’m not an actor for sure," Reid said in September. "It was something in the offseason that I did, and the reason I kind of did it was for (Patrick) Pat (Mahomes), and they asked us to do another one so I did it. But I know I’m not very good at it so I’m going to keep my day job here.”

Well, when Snickers came calling to re-create an Iconic 1997 Snickers commercial, Reid jumped at the opportunity. You might remember the original commercial if you're a long-time Chiefs (or Snickers) fan. Check out the new ad below:

A field attendant is hard at work painting the end zone and stares proudly at his work as he concludes. Chiefs HC Andy Reid walks over and beckons, "Hey that's great, but who are the Chefs?"

The attendant misspelled "Chiefs" and wrote "Chefs."

"Rookie mistake," a voice says.

"Great googly moogly," Reid proclaims.

"Maybe you just need a Snickers," a voice says.

"Eh, maybe no one will notice," Reid concludes.

I couldn't think of a better person to help re-create this iconic commercial. Perhaps, Reid was just trying to keep this one under wraps with his comments made to the media back in September. We'll hear what Big Red has to say about this one when he meets with the media again this Friday.
