Patrick Mahomes is leading the Kansas City Chiefs into a matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 6 of the NFL season.
Mahomes is looking to help the Chiefs get back on track after beginning the season on a struggling note. Kansas City entered Week 6 with a 2-3 record.
Before playing the Lions, the Chiefs defeated the New York Giants and the Baltimore Ravens. Kansas City suffered losses to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.
As Mahomes looks to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a win over the Detroit Lions, they were dealt bad news that abruptly hit the team.
Before kickoff, the Chiefs announced that offensive tackle Josh Simmons was questionable. Kansas City mentioned that the report comes from personal reasons for Simmons.
"T Josh Simmons has been added to the injury report," posted the official social media account of the Kansas City Chiefs. "He is questionable for tonight’s game (Not Injury Related - Personal)."

The loss of Josh Simmons would be a blow for the Kansas City Chiefs who have struggled to find consistency on the offensive end. Simmons brings another question mark to the table, having already had trouble in the run game as well protecting Patrick Mahomes.
Simmons was selected by the Chiefs in the first round. He made the move to the NFL after becoming a star in the college football world on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Throughout the 2025 season with the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has posted eight touchdowns and 1,257 yards with a 63.4 completion percentage.
Mahomes will look to lead the Chiefs to a win over the Detroit Lions on "Sunday Night Football," in Week 6 of the NFL season. He may have to play without one of the Chiefs' most talented players on the offensive line.
