Chiefs Announce Coach Andy Reid Move On Staff

One season ends, another begins.

They are just a few days removed from Super Bowl LIX, but the Kansas City Chiefs are forced now to regroup and evaluate everything after a brutal 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles

So, the "offseason'' is in reality just another "season.''

Some of the changes will come on the roster, of course. The Chiefs have a number of free agents heading into this period and legendary tight end Travis Kelce has contemplated retirement.

Some of the changes will come on the coaching staff as well.

Amid some ridiculous calls from Kansas City critics to move on from iconic coach Andy Reid - think about this, folks: What he did "wrong'' was not three-peat! - that process is already underway.

Kansas City is likely to stay atop the list of major contenders, right up there with the champs from Philadelphia; if Patrick Mahomes is your QB, you have a wide and long window of contention.

So how do the Chiefs respond to keep their run going?

Reid has already made an addition to the coaching staff as the Chiefs have hired Jackson State linebackers coach Chris Orr.

Orr will be on the backend of the staff as he is jumping from having been the linebackers coach at Jackson State during the 2024 season. The 27-year-old played for Wisconsin from 2016 to 2019, was with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and then finished his playing career in the USFL.

We like to say around here that it takes "10,000 links in the chain'' to build a winner. That identifies the importance of every move, from assistant coaches to what KC will do with, say, Trey Smith, Justin Reid and Nick Bolton in free agency to of course a Kelce decision that will be monumental, one way or the other, for the Kansas City Chiefs.
