Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs suffered their second straight loss on Sunday. After their disappointing Week 9 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs returned from their bye to face the Denver Broncos in a road game on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes and Co. put up a good fight, but the Broncos were able to hold on to a 22-19 win via a last-second field goal.

Reid spoke to reporters after the tough loss, and one of the issues he discussed was the injury report from the game. The four-time Super Bowl-winning coach revealed that there was one injury against the Broncos.

Travis Kelce had a big game in this one. The four-time All-Pro tight end turned back the clock to score a 21-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Kelce scored his 84th career touchdown, making him the all-time TD leader in Chiefs history. The 10-time Pro Bowler finished with nine catches for a game-high 91 yards. Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, completed 29-of-45 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The silver lining from the loss is that none of the Chiefs’ stars sustained an injury in the game. Reid announced after the game that only second-year tackle Kinsley Suamataia suffered a knock against Denver. Reid confirmed that the 22-year-old offensive lineman took a hit to the head during the same play that Mahomes got picked off in the third quarter.

Suamataia had to be helped off the field after the incident. The Chiefs later announced that the former BYU Cougars had been placed in the concussion protocol. As such, Suamataia, who has started all 10 games for the Chiefs this season, is now in danger of missing Kansas’ next game.

The Chiefs will return to the field on Sunday, Nov. 23, for another tough matchup. They will face the 8-2 Indianapolis Colts in Week 12. The good news for the 5-5 Chiefs is that they will return home to host the Colts at Arrowhead Stadium as they look to get back to winning ways.
