Chiefs Announce Isiah Pacheco Development on Wednesday

The Kansas City Chiefs have a complicated path to getting into the AFC West race and even the AFC playoff picture.

They sit at 5-5 after back-to-back losses to the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos, and the Broncos (9-2) are in first place in the division with the Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) in second.

The 22-19 loss to the Broncos in Week 11 was a tough blow for Patrick Mahomes and company, and the road doesn't get better in Week 12.

The Chiefs face the 8-2 Indianapolis Colts, who are in the middle of a massive comeback season and are one game behind the Broncos and New England Patriots for the top seed in the AFC.

In the past two games, the Chiefs played without starting running back Isiah Pacheco due to a knee injury he suffered against the Washington Commanders at the end of October.

On Wednesday, the team got huge news on the Pacheco injury front, according to Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star.

"Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco will return to practice on Wednesday."

Pacheco was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft after playing college football at Rutgers.

But the Day 3 draft pick has become the Chiefs' RB1. He had 830 yards in his rookie season and 935 yards in 2023 before playing just seven games in 2024 due to various injuries.

In Pacheco's absence, veteran Kareem Hunt saw the majority of the work with 24 carries for 108 yards and two scores in the last two games.

The Chiefs and Colts kick off on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET with the game broadcast on CBS.
