
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without quarterback Patrick Mahomes for the rest of the season after the NFL star suffered a season-ending injury.
Mahomes went down with a knee injury against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15.
It was later ruled that Mahomes suffered a torn ACL. He would be ruled out for the rest of the season, including three regular season games.
In the latest update, the Chiefs revealed that Patrick Mahomes underwent successful surgery to repair his left ACL and he will now begin the rehab process.
"Patrick Mahomes underwent surgery in Dallas this evening with Dr. Dan Cooper to repair the tear in his left ACL. Mahomes will immediately begin his rehab process."

Patrick Mahomes suffered the injury in the final drive of the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 15 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was helped off the field and was eventually helped to the locker room.
With the loss to the Chargers, the Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs.
Their next three games will be against the Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos. The loss to the Chargers marked the Chiefs' third straight loss in the latter half of the NFL season.
Patrick Mahomes finished his season with 22 touchdowns and 3,587 yards. He also made an impact in the run game, posting five touchdowns and 422 yards on the ground.
