The Kansas City Chiefs are currently in the middle of their Super Bowl assault against the Philadelphia Eagles, but that doesn't mean attention can't turn to the draft.
While it is unknown exactly where Kansas City will see value in which position, there are a few areas that might need tightening up.
One such position is defensive tackle.
With the Chiefs picking at the later stages of the first round, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein has Kansas City fortifying its defensive line with Ohio State stud Tyleik Williams.
"Williams is a violent point-of-attack DT who is more than just a run-plugger -- he's a tackle-maker inside," Zierlein writes.
Williams, as a run-stopping lineman, would be what the Chiefs need. In the regular season, Steve Spagnuolo's defense allowed only 100 rushing yards just seven times, and three of those were over 130 yards.
But in their two playoff games, the Chiefs have allowed over 140 rushing yards in each, so Williams could help solidify the interior. Due to his superb strength, he is good at collapsing the pocket and can get off blocks rather well to continue attackingĀ the quarterback.
And when he doesn't get to the quarterback, he makes a habit of batting down passes at the line of scrimmage.
It wouldn't be a sexy pick like Xavier Worthy was last year, but Williams certainly fills a need and will give the Chiefs some extra grunt in the trenches ... with Chris Jones gaining a fine partner. While he might be inconsistent in his play early on, Kansas City has a knack for getting the most out of its players.
