Chiefs continue to prove year after year why home-field advantage in the postseason is so important, and it's not because of fans

The Kansas City Chiefs have perfected the art of having home-field advantage. Yes, they get home-field advantage in the postseason very often, so often that they have played just two road playoff games in the Patrick Mahomes era, and both of those were wins as well, last year against the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens.

This year, they were able to get the one seed and play every single game at home, every game that they make it to, that is. The only non-home game would be the Super Bowl if they were to make it. But, while they have mastered the art of getting home-field advantage, that's not what I'm referring to. No, the Chiefs have perfected the art of playing at home.

And, no, I'm not talking about the fan base and that being the advantage.

Remember last season when the Miami Dolphins came to town, and they were talking about how they would be ready for the cold? And even the Jacksonville Jaguars the year before that. Well, those are teams that are in warm climates, where it really doesn't get cold. Kansas City plays home games in January, and in January in Kansas City, it's extremely cold.

It was extremely cold on Saturday when the Chiefs beat the Houston Texans, a team that also plays in warm weather and isn't really used to the KC cold. Sure, it gets cold in the winter in Texas, but it isn't anything like what the Chiefs hosted on Saturday.

For it to be as cold as it was on Saturday, and the Chiefs to have only one missed tackle, shows you just how much they have mastered the cold. The Texans on the other hand, had six missed tackles, as their defense was missing left and right, and the refs made them continue to leave Travis Kelce wide open.

That's a joke, obviously.

The Texans were not ready for the cold.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the cold won't matter next week when they face the Buffalo Bills at home, as the Buffalo Bills play in even worse cold conditions than the Chiefs. It should be a fun one regardless.
