Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs had arguably their best win of the 2025 NFL season in Week 7, securing the first winning record of the year (4-3) after taking down Geno Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0. Patrick Mahomes finished the day completing 26-of-35 passes for 286 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, while adding another 28 yards on the ground.
Mahomes saw his top wide receiver, Rashee Rice, return after serving a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Rice couldn't have asked for a much better season debut, recording seven catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns. But just as Reid thought his Chiefs were finally getting healthy, they lost a key piece to Steve Spagnuolo's defense.
Omarr Norman-Lott, the Chiefs’ second-round pick in this year’s draft, has earned a role on Kansas City’s defense, but has missed two games because of ankle and shoulder injuries. In the four games Norman-Lott had played prior to Week 7, the defensive tackle had recorded five tackles and a sack, with Reid utilizing his pass-rushing ability.
With 2:30 remaining in the third quarter, Norman-Lott went down in visible pain as his teammates gathered around him. After several minutes, the rookie was helped off the field by Mahomes and defensive back Nohl Williams, eventually heading back to the locker room. He was initially listed as questionable to return with a knee injury, but Kansas City later ruled him out. And, according to Reid, Norman-Lott is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday.
"Omarr Norman-Lott has been ruled out," the Chiefs wrote on X.

While Reid awaits the MRI results, saying the team will “know more” soon, right tackle Jawaan Taylor also left the game with a shoulder injury and did not return. Fortunately for Mahomes, it appeared to be a precautionary move with the Chiefs already up 31-0.
"That said ... those injuries are not the same," Chiefs Digest's Matt Derick wrote on X. "Jawaan Taylor is hanging out on the bench with the OL, looks like he'd been in there if it wasn't 31-0. Omarr Norman-Lott went back to the locker room, likely getting X-rays right now."
Up next for the Chiefs, a matchup with Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in Week 7's edition of "Monday Night Football."
