The Kansas City Chiefs got back in the win column on Sunday with a close, 30-27 win against the Carolina Panthers.

Although Carolina had a great offensive second half, outscoring the Chiefs, 18-10, Kansas City did have a couple of strong performances on offense that helped them secure the victory.

Aside from Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs' best offensive performance came from fourth-year tight end Noah Gray. He finished the game with 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns on four catches.

Entering this season, Gray's career-best year came in 2023, when he finished with 28 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns. This season, in 11 games, Gray has already surpassed his career highs with 315 yards and four touchdowns on 27 catches. All of Gray's four touchdowns have come in the last two games.

After his big performance on Sunday, Gray stayed humble and gave Mahomes and the rest of the offense the credit for his second touchdown.

“(Mahomes) gave me the answer to the test there,” said Gray. "He told me what coverage it was pre-snap. That’s just the blessing you have of playing with a quarterback like that.

"Offensive line did a great job blocking that up and the receivers did a great job running their routes to pop me open. Really just a group effort right there on that touchdown.”

With superstar Travis Kelce recently turning 35-years-old and having a down year statistically, the Chiefs could view Gray as the future at the tight end position.
