It didn't take long for a key Kansas City Chiefs player to sustain an injury.
On just the third play from scrimmage of the game, wide receiver Xavier Worthy collided with tight end Travis Kelce and injured his shoulder. He went directly to the x-ray room, and is officially questionable to return.

This situation will bring deja vu to many Chiefs fans. In Week 4 of last season, quarterback Patrick Mahomes collided with WR Rashee Rice, costing Rice the rest of the season with a knee injury. K.C. is still without Rice as he is serving a six-game suspension.
Coach Andy Reid will likely give an update on Worthy's status after the game. Losing him would be a major blow after he was the team's top WR in 2024. Not only are the Chiefs without Rice, but rookie Jalen Royals didn't make the trip to Brazil as he battles knee tendinitis.
Worthy has worked hard during the offseason to be a complete player and not just a deep threat. Last year he caught 59 passes for 683 yards and six touchdowns, also added 104 rushing yards and three rushing TDs.
UPDATE: Worthy has been downgraded to out and will not return to the game.
