The last time the Kansas City Chiefs took the field was back in February, when they suffered a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Now, with training camp underway, the Chiefs appear more motivated than ever to bounce back. However, they experienced a brief scare on Tuesday during practice when second-year wide receiver and key offensive piece Xavier Worthy came up shaken after a diving attempt on a deep pass. Worthy immediately headed to the medical tent, causing a moment of concern.
Fortunately, after quarterback Patrick Mahomes checked on Worthy shortly after, and the receiver soon returned to the field with his helmet in hand—excellent news for the Chiefs, as the injury was not serious enough to keep him out of practice for long.

Kansas City dealt with a slew of injuries last season, particularly at the wide receiver position. They were without Marquise “Hollywood” Brown for most of the year and lost Rashee Rice for the season in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Losing Xavier Worthy would be a major blow, as he has emerged as a key piece in the Chiefs' offensive scheme and is expected to take on an even larger role in his second year. During his rookie campaign in 2024, Worthy recorded 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns, while also adding 20 carries for 104 yards and three rushing scores.
