Chiefs React to Travis Kelce’s Change in Physical Appearance

Travis Kelce is entering his 14th season in the NFL, all of which have been with the Kansas City Chiefs. After being selected No. 63 overall in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by Kansas City, Kelce played only a single special teams snap as a rookie, in a Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Since then, the three-time Super Bowl champion has outperformed his draft positioning, to say the least. The seven-time All-Pro has set all-time marks for the Chiefs, such as surpassing Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez's 10,940 career receiving yards (13,002) and passing three-time first-team All-Pro Priest Holmes' 83 total career touchdowns (85).

From career receptions (1,054) to 100-yard games (38), the 6-foot-5 tight end is the record holder for a litany of Kansas City franchise records, and that's before you get to the postseason ones. A lot has changed for Kelce since he arrived in 2013. The biggest change for the Ohio native is his public relationship with superstar singer Taylor Swift, with the two reportedly set to be married over the July 4 weekend.

On Wednesday, Kansas City went to social media to reflect on another change for its superstar tight end, the most inevitable of all: aging. In an Instagram post, the Chiefs first shared a headshot of a young Kelce with his arms folded and "Year 1" written in the bottom right corner. In the second photo, the present-day headshot of the future Hall of Famer is shown with "Year 14" written.

"Some things just keep getting better," the Chiefs wrote in the Instagram caption.

Kansas City will open the 2026 NFL regular season hosting the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Sept. 14. The game will be featured on ESPN's Monday Night Football, with Joe Buck providing the play-by-play and Troy Aikman providing color anaylsis.
