The Kansas City Chiefs may have to alter their plans for Rashee Rice this upcoming season.

Rice was suspended for six games in 2025 due to his role in a high-speed racing crash in Dallas. As part of his plea deal, Rice received five years of probation. Well, he reportedly violated his probation this week.

Matt Foster of KSHB 41 News reported Tuesday that Rice violated his probation by testing positive for marijuana. He's been ordered to serve 30 days in jail, which means he'll miss OTAs and mandatory minicamp for the Chiefs.

To make matters worse, Rice is scheduled to go to trial on June 9 for a lawsuit stemming from the same racing incident.

A few hours after the initial news broke about Rice receiving jail time, Kansas City issued this statement: "We are aware of the reports and have been in touch with the league office. We will have no further comment at this time."

Fans are calling for Rashee Rice's release.

Rice had 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns for the Chiefs during the 2025 season. Although he's a valuable asset, fans are tired of his antics.

“Chiefs, why is this guy still on the team after causing so much trouble,” one fan asked.

“Can he be cut already,” another Chiefs fan wrote on social media.

“CUT HIM NOW,” another fan declared.

The Chiefs have Rice under contract for only the 2026 season, so moving on from him wouldn't be costly.

Make no mistake though, Kansas City's wide receiver room can't afford to lose Rice.
