Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones claimed a viral clip of him complaining about the Philadelphia Eagles’ plays was not a reaction to the tush push.
The NFL released in-game audio from the Eagles’ 20-17 win over the Chiefs on Sunday in which Jones could be heard complaining on the bench after Philadelphia scored a touchdown on the tush push play. Naturally, it was widely assumed that Jones was complaining about that specific play given he complained that the Eagles “ran the same play seven f—ing times.”
According to Jones, that was not the case. He said Thursday the Eagles kept running inside zone runs against the Chiefs to great success.
“I never once complained about the tush push on the sideline,” Jones said. “We actually stopped the tush push multiple times. The clip y’all seen is portrayed as, they ran the tush push, that came out. No, that was because they ran the inside zone five times, and I’m like, as a defensive line, we’ve got to adjust to that.”
Chiefs DT Chris Jones was adamant Thursday that he wasn't talking about the tush push in this clip.

There is no questioning that Jones was very frustrated at the end of the Chiefs’ loss. His attempt at trash-talking Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was thrown back in his face pretty brutally.
The Chiefs are 0-2, a position players like Jones are not accustomed to being in. He has been an All-Pro for three consecutive seasons, but like many of his teammates, things have been tough to start 2025.
Jones’ frustration may not have been directed at the tush push in this specific instance, but there are definitely some people that would apply the same sentiment to it.
