Chiefs TE Travis Kelce opens up about the nerves and emotions of proposing to Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce popped the question to Taylor Swift just before the 2025 NFL season began, and during an interview with sportscaster Erin Andrews, filmed at Arrowhead Stadium, Kelce opened up about the nerves he felt during this moment.

"How rattled did you get when you proposed?" Andrews asked the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

"She can tell that story," he said. "The palms were definitely sweating. I'm an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there, but it’s been an exciting ride up to this date, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her."

The smile when Kelce talks about his fiancee says it all.

"She has brought excitement and a joy for life that made me a better man, made me a better person, and made me just that much more comfortable in who I am," he explained.

The star couple announced the big news on Tuesday, Aug. 26, with Swift sharing numerous photos of them in a beautiful garden with flowers all around them on Instagram.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married ,” Swift captioned the post.
