Travis Kelce is gearing up for his 14th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2026 after signing a three-year, $54.735 million deal this offseason. The 36-year-old tight end is looking to finish out his NFL career on a bright note, especially after the Chiefs finished the 2025 season with a 6-11 record, missing out on the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

Still, Kelce will go down as one of the best tight ends in NFL history when it is all said and done. The former Cincinnati Bearcats star has totaled 1,080 catches for 13,002 yards and 82 touchdowns during his historic career, which also includes three Super Bowl wins in five appearances. And while Kelce is a lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fames in the future, one of his former Kansas City teammates was recently inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame.

Derrick Johnson, after a four-year college career with the Texas Longhorns, was selected by the Chiefs with the No. 15 pick of the 2005 NFL Draft. The former linebacker spent his first 13 seasons in Kansas City, becoming a four-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro, before joining the Oakland Raiders for his final season in 2018 . In 188 total games, Johnson tallied 1,169 tackles, 27.5 sacks, 14 interceptions and 14 forced fumbles.

And recently, Kansas City revealed that Johnson, the team's all-time leader in tackles, has been inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame, joining some elite names such as Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes and Derrick Thomas.

"Our all-time leading tackler has earned his rightful place in the Chiefs Hall of Fame. Congratulations, @superdj56! ," the Chiefs wrote on Instagram.

On Tuesday, in celebration of his new honor, Kansas City brought in Johnson for a Q&A, where he discussed his time with coach Andy Reid, his favorite quarterback to sack (Peyton Manning) and his favorite teammate (Tamba Hali), among other things.

Kelce, who spent five seasons alongside Johnson, showed support for his former Chiefs teammate in the comments section: "One of my favorite teammates of all time right here!!!"

Kelce and the Chiefs will now turn their focus to the 2026 season as they look to bounce back from last year’s disappointing finish.
