Even Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is not immune to an awkward case of mistaken identity.

The three-time Super Bowl champion is one of the most recognizable names in sports. His engagement to pop superstarTaylor Swift has only widened his orbit. The relationship pulled him deeper into a world of business titans and entertainers he might not have otherwise crossed paths with.

That growing network has introduced him to some of the biggest names in business and entertainment. It has also led to some awkward moments.

During the live episode of "New Heights" on Monday with his brother, retired NFL center Jason Kelce, the Chiefs TE recounted a hilarious story about how he confused Warren Buffett for Jimmy Buffett.

"I have face blindness. Do you guys know I have face blindness? Well, this is an episode of face blindness," he shared.

Kelce revealed he attended The Hamptons Music Festival alongside figures from the business and finance world. He expected to rub elbows with industry heavyweights. What he did not account for was losing track of the night early.

"So I get up there and immediately started having beverages, the Kelce way about going about things," he shared. "And I get [expletive]-faced. I don't even know who's performing at the concert."

Someone in the crowd told Kelce that "Buffett" was there and wanted to meet him. The 36-year-old made a reasonable assumption. He made his way over, expecting to shake hands with the iconic billionaire and philanthropist. The conversation started smoothly enough. Then things took a turn.

"He tells me a story from high school (about) how he picked up the guitar for the first time," Kelce shared.

"I said this right to his face. 'No way, Warren Buffett played the guitar?' And his face went from smiling from ear to ear to not smiling at all. And then he got tapped on the shoulder because he had to sing 'Margaritaville.'"

Kelce had spent the evening charming the legendary musician. At least he had a great story to tell.
