Chiefs' Travis Kelce details 'inappropriate things' said by Bills fans

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke glowingly about the environment he and his players encountered during this past Sunday's 27-24 divisional playoff victory at the Buffalo Bills, but it appears not all Bills fans left positive impressions on Kansas City players. 

"There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man," Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce explained during the latest edition of the "New Heights" podcast, as shared by Jaclyn Hendricks of the New York Post. "Understandable it’s a football game, the Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy. Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent. Did it get a little extra? One thousand percent."

Specifically, Kelce mentioned that "some things were said about the families" and "inappropriate things were said about" Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes. While Mahomes and other visiting players had snowballs thrown their way by Bills fans, the Chiefs enjoyed the last laugh by clinching a sixth straight trip to the AFC Championship Game.

Kelce, meanwhile, went viral on Sunday when he flashed a "heart hand" toward a suite that housed girlfriend Taylor Swift, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce (Travis' brother) and others after the tight end scored a touchdown. Swift has utilized the gesture during her stadium performances: 

"Had to spread the love, baby, always gotta spread that love," Kelce said about the celebration. The 34-year-old added: "I get it. Coming into a hostile environment, I respect it, but I just wanted to make sure [they] knew it wasn’t mutual. I don’t hate you guys like you hate us. It’s all love, baby."

Kelce and company should expect more of the same treatment from opposing spectators when the Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium this coming Sunday with a trip to Super Bowl LVIII on the line. As of Wednesday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Chiefs as 3.5-point underdogs against the Ravens. 

It was unclear at that time if Swift will attend Sunday's game, but it's worth noting her international tour dates don't resume until Feb. 7.
