Chiefs Urged To Take 'Swing' At Stefon Diggs

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the offseason with big needs on the offensive side of the ball, with the offensive line getting most of the attention.

But the receiver position is also a need, especially since DeAndre Hopkins, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Marquise Brown are all free agents.

Now, the Chiefs might choose to bring back one or more of that trio, but there's a real chance that none return in 2025. That means the Chiefs must either add through free agency or the draft.

And for CBS Sports, in a unique project, they undertook a free agency mock draft, and Stefon Diggs comes to the AFC Champs.

"WR Stefon Diggs: The Chiefs have taken plenty of recent swings at veteran wideout help, but Diggs can still be a Grade-A starter, once healthy," CBS Sports writes . "Patrick Mahomes deserves additional outlets."

The biggest thing when talking about Diggs is how healthy will he be post-ACL injury because we have seen some players take a full year before they are anywhere near their best, for others, they never get back to what they were.

But in Diggs, the Chiefs could get a speedy, veteran option that will no doubt mesh well with what Andy Reid cooks up. In his eight games for the Houston Texans last year before the injury, Diggs had 496 yards and three touchdowns, and he averaged 62 yards per game.

He was on track to be close to 1,000 yards, which shows that there is still juice in the tank.

But how much will be left after his injury? If the Chiefs do make a move, that is a question that needs to be answered.
