Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill still dreams of competing in Olympics

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is preparing to play in his second consecutive Super Bowl on Sunday. However, it appears he has his eyes on much larger competition. 

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Hill reiterated his desire to compete in the Olympics. 

"It is still an option 'cause it's always been my dream to do multiple sports at the highest level," Hill said. "It would be amazing. I just want to prove a point and also, like, I love competing."

Hill initially discussed competing at the Olympics last year after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. With the pandemic resulting in the Games' postponement until this summer, the 26-year-old admitted he still wants to make his dreams come true. 

"Like I'm young, so why not use everything that I got while I still have it," Hill said. "Because one day I'm going to be old, and I'm not going to be as fast so just use everything I got."

Hill was an incredible sprinter in high school. He broke the 10-second mark in the 100-meter dash and also ran a 20.14-second 200-meter sprint, per TMZ. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds at his NFL Pro Day. 

The five-time Pro Bowler said in 2020 that he'd have to lose 20 pounds to compete in Tokyo. He would then have to gain the weight back for the football season. With the Olympics set to begin in July and the football season not long after that, it would be nearly impossible for Hill to gain the weight back. 

If Hill is serious about competing in the 2021 Olympics, he'll have to register for the U.S. Olympic track and field trials, which will take place in June.
