Xavier Worthy and the Kansas City Chiefs secured their third-straight win in Week 8's edition of "Monday Night Football," taking down Marcus Mariota and the Washington Commanders 28-7, jumping to 5-3 on the 2025 NFL season. Worthy had another solid game, tallying five catches for 53 yards, while both Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice found the end zone.
Worthy, a first-round pick in last year’s draft, was expected to take a big step forward in his second NFL season. However, a collision with Travis Kelce in Week 1 caused the receiver to separate his shoulder, forcing him to miss the rest of that game and the next two. In the six games he has played this year, Worthy has recorded 21 catches for 233 yards and one touchdown.
But Worthy has gotten involved off the field as well. Over the offseason, the former Texas Longhorns star began his own foundation called The Worthy 1's, which focuses on assisting single mothers and their children. And over the weekend, the foundation started its Youth R.I.S.E. program in Kansas City, which provides children with "mentorship opportunities, sports activities, and family engagement."
As part of the program, Worthy launched Worthy’s Wardrobe, giving kids the opportunity to choose the Chiefs star’s gameday outfit. For Week 8 against the Commanders, Worthy sported a pink pinstripe three-piece suit featuring a red pocket square and his No. 1 embroidered on his tie.
"This weekend we kicked off our Youth R.I.S.E. (REACH. INSPIRE. SUPPORT. EMPOWER) program in Kansas City! ♥️," The Worthy 1's wrote on Instagram. "The program was created for youth who are navigating critical crossroads in life. As part of the 3-month program — Worthy’s Wardrobe gives them a chance to explore personal expression, confidence, and self-worth by styling Xavier Worthy’s game day fit!
"This week’s look was inspired by conversations about purpose, growth, and resilience — reminding each participant that what they wear is more than fashion; it’s a reflection of who they are becoming. The youth created their own hashtags to represent their journey: #HTTEAM #ResilienceandPurpose"
Up next for Worthy and the Chiefs, a Week 9 battle with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
