Xavier Worthy is at the heart of the Kansas City Chiefs’ receiving corps. The 5‑foot‑11, 165‑pound speedster out of Fresno, California, burst onto the scene after being selected 28th overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Fresh off setting a new NFL combine benchmark with a 4.21‑second 40‑yard dash, Worthy concluded his rookie season with 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns, showcasing the explosive traits that made him a standout for the Texas Longhorns.

Worthy made headlines on Thursday with an Instagram post revealing his plans to host a youth football camp from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas.

The free event, open to boys and girls ages 6-16, is organized in partnership with FlexWork Management and is designed to give local athletes firsthand instruction from an elite NFL playmaker.

After a decorated collegiate tenure at Texas, where he earned two First‑Team All‑Big 12 honors and was named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2021, Worthy forfeited his senior season to declare for the draft on Jan. 2, 2024.

In his final junior year with the Longhorns, Worthy tallied 1,014 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns on 75 receptions.

Despite finishing the season with a Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, in which Worthy rewrote rookie history with an eight‑catch, 157‑yard, two‑touchdown performance, Kansas City returns largely intact. Worthy's 157 receiving yards are the most ever by a rookie in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs enter the 2025 season as three-time defending AFC champions, aiming to rebound from their Super Bowl defeat and further cement their dynasty under head coach Andy Reid and future Hall of Famers Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
