Leigh Leopards director of rugby, Chris Chester, will likely leave the club after a prosperous tenure that saw the team promoted into the Super League and triumphing in the Challenge Cup.
Chester signed for Leigh in 2021, was part of the team promoted to the Super League, and finally won the Challenge Cup in 2021 after 52 years. Before that, he contributed significantly to the recruitment aspect such that players like Edwin Ipape and Lachlan Lam, among others, joined the Foxes.
Looking at and analyzing its resources and achievements from an external perspective, they all point towards the assertion that I have had a good time whilst studying at Leigh. "We have done a lot and it’s been a pleasure to be part of the process,” said Chester on the club's official website.
Leigh's owner, Derek Beaumont, on the Leigh Leopards' official website, also appreciated Chester's efforts: I would like to extend my gratitude to Chris for the effort that he has put in." Thus, he has contributed significantly to the club.
Although Chester tendered his resignation four weeks ago, he will still work for the company this week. In a special gathering filled with emotions, he was given a heartfelt ceremony at halftime before the exciting league encounter with the Salford Red Devils.
As for Leigh, he has not given any clues about whether he will scour the market for new talent on his own. However, Beaumont is confident that Adrian Lam can do this well once he is signed on to another contract. The future looks promising as they consider their options.
